I love that car to bad it wont ever go to production

I thought it was in a year or two.

Chrysler announced that the Dodge Challenger will be produced as a coupe, to arrive in dealerships in 2008 (as a 2008 model year car), and to be built on the same line as the 300, Charger, and Magnum. Chrysler assures us that the production car will be practically indistinguishable from the concept.



which means it wont be the same they do this all the time they design the car and biuld a really awesome looking car,get some preorders, get some people talking about them and get them wanting it then they put out a cheaper biult not as neat car. remember the new mustang concept car that by far was a better looking car than this new challenger concept. and look what they put out is it as cool as the concept mustang, nope not even close now the new mustang is still a good looking car. I believe the majority of the problem is people (as a whole) are stupid and willing to settle for 2nd best I bet if they wouldnt have sold any of the new mustang's ford either would have went bankrupt or started biulding the concept car. But people get the Idea "hey thats new not as cool as what was promise but I could be the 1st to have one" then they brag to there buddy joe blow and he starts wow I got have one and so on and so on. I they biult that Challenger or made it better  and sold it at a fair price I'd buy. but Hid and watch it maybe close but it wont be the same. Okay Ill pass the soap box along

I agree that ppl get excited and want to have the 1st of anything.
As far as ford goes, it sounds like they are close to trouble anyway.
Not closing their doors, but major changes.
I heard on the news that they fell to 3rd behind GM, and Toyota for earnings this quarter.
IF the production Challenger looks exactly like these pics, I would create a big boost for the muscle car market. Even though the Charger is a 4 door- at least it's a rwd car w/ a v-8 hemi option.
Let's face it, I love chevrolet, but right now, Dodge has the lead in this market. followed by Ford with their Mustangs.  The only RWD car chevy makes is the Corvette. (not counting ponitac GTO)
It would appear we are on the verge of another muscle car war...... yea for us.

I heard they are dropping the gto and the corvette isnt in the same class as the other look at price and seating

I agree the Corvette isn't in the same class- A fast car that's fun to drive-yes.
I true muscle car in the sense- no.
