They just reported the vault was dug up, inspected by hazardous material people. The vault was filled to the fenders with mud and water. Everything was ruined. There was evidence that the vault had been completely filled with water at some point. The sucks.

Go to www.tulsaworld.com and watch the video of them opening the vault. They pumped alot of water out! The car was vacuum sealed in a large bag when put in the vault. Doesn't look good. Should know more tomorrow on the real condition of the car.

I wonder if the bag could have stayed sealed?

The latest that I read said they test lifted the car today and it went well. Apparently one of the tailfins is poking through the protective plastic and looks to be in good shape. I'm still hoping the car is somewhat ok!

I've been watching the website for a while now. I'm getting really curious to see how it looks. you know the results of the winner are in the trunk with all the other stuff, wander if its all ruined?

Chances are good that its got alot of rust. I would be pretty cool if it didn't need any thing though. I thought it was funny they put a can of gas in there with it didn't they think that the gas might go bad?

yeah its kinda funny about them putting the gas in their, but you know they were worried when they dug it up gas would not be avalible. One of the articles goes on about it being nuclear bomb proof but not water proof. I thought it was a pretty good idea that they put all the contest info on micrfish, even though its been a long time since I've seen anything on microfish. But you think about it if you was going to do something similar to this today what would you pack in their to insure you could still drive the vehicle 50 years from now?  You know we are dealing with such a rapid growth in technology. Anything you bought a couple of years ago is way out dated now. just imagine 50 years from now.

It was sad seeing car almost completly rotted. They never found microfish with all of the population guesses. Too bad, it would have been great to see it come out perfect.
